Akala, Marshyangdi register win in district football league

DAMAULI: Akala Youth Club and Marshyangdi Youth Club registered victories during the seventh-day matches of District League Football Tournament at Gorakhkali Football Ground in Tanahun district, on Sunday.

Akala Youth Club defeated Puljip Youth Club by 1-0 during the first match of the day. Likewise, Marshyangdi Youth Club got walkover due to the absence of Nawamitrata Youth Club during the second match.

The last stage of the league will be played on Monday, informed tournament referee Raween Thapa Magar. He further added that Youth Club Bhimad will compete against Hairans Club Damauli in the first match of that day while All-Star Club Abukhairini will play against Khairenitar Youth Club in the second match.

Hairans and All-Star are jointly leading the table with nine points each whereas Akala and Marsyangdi are following behind with seven points each to their name.

The final match of the tournament will be played on August 29. Winner of the district league tournament will participate in Gandaki state-level tournament, said All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Tanahun president Ratna Kumar Shrestha.

A total of 10 clubs affiliated to ANFA are taking part in the tournament organised by Tanahun Chapter of the Association.
