Alaves beat Real Betis to keep momentum in Spanish league
MADRID: Promoted Alaves defeated Real Betis 1-0 and extended its unbeaten run to four games in the Spanish league on Friday.
Deyverson scored the second-half winner for Alaves' first home win in five matches.
Alaves was 12th in the 20-team standings. Real Betis stayed 14th.
It was the last match for the teams ahead of the winter break. The league will resume in the second weekend of January.
Real Madrid, which has made the Club World Cup final in Japan, leads the league by six points from Barcelona.
The Catalan club hosts Espanyol in the local derby on Sunday.
