Amir included

ISLAMABAD: The international cricket recall of former spot-fixer Mohammad Amir was a step closer after he was picked by Pakistan for a training camp on Friday. The 23-year-old left-arm fast bowler finished a five-year international ban in September, and his performances have impressed national coach Waqar Younis. The Pakistan Cricket Board says in a statement that the “main objective of the camp is to improve the overall physical fitness of all players, and to enhance the technical aspect of each player’s game.” In the recent Bangladesh Twenty20 league, Amir took 14 wickets in nine matches for Chittagong Vikings. Fast bowler Umar Gul, recovered from a knee injury, was also named in the 26-man squad for the camp.
