ANFA announces final Nepal squad for SAG

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Sunday announced the final Nepal squad to participate in the 12th South Asian Games to be held in Guwahati of India in February.

All members of the 20-member squad, led by Biraj Maharjan, were in the Nepal football team who lifted the Bangabandhu Gold Cup recently, according to the football-governing body.

The team has three members above the age of 23 including Maharjan, Bikram Lama and Navayug Shrestha.

Goalkeepers: Bikes Kuthu, Alan Neupane, Amrit Chaudhary

Defenders: Aditya Chaudhary, Ananta Tamang, Biraj Maharjan (C), Dinesh Rajbansi, Man Bahadur Tamang, Kamal Shrestha

Midfielders: Bikram Lama, Bishal Rai, Heman Gurung, Jagajeet Shrestha, Prakash Budhathoki

Forwards: Anjan Bista, Bimal Gharti Magar, Nawayug Shrestha, Ranjan Bista, Sunil Bal, Suman Lama

Head Coach: Raju Kaji Shakya

Goalkeepting Coach: Mrigendra Mishra

Manager: Birat Jung Shahi

Nepal are in Group B of the tournament with Bhutan and Bangladesh.
