ANFA fate to be decided on Wednesday: Shrestha

The fate of the current All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) executive body will be decided on Wednesday, said National Sports Council (NSC) member secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
The agitating club members gheraoed Shrestha demanding the dissolution of the ANFA then and there and Shrestha assured the group saying the matter would be discussed at the board meeting on Wednesday. “Like all of you present here, I am also the well wisher of football and I will put the agenda at the board meeting,” said Shrestha, after the agitators put forward their demand of forming a new ANFA committee dissolving the existing one headed by Ganesh Thapa.
Sunil Kapali of Machhindra Club, Indra Man Tuladhar of Sankata, Bijay Narayan Shrestha of RCT, Rajendra Neupane of Saraswoti, Krishna Bhakta Manandhar of United, former ANFA general secretary Lok Bahadur Shahi, and former players Narendra Man Shrestha, Ganesh Pandey and Sambhu Bastola criticised the NSC for unnecessarily putting off the dissolution process of the ANFA.
Earlier, the agitators entered the NSC premises chanting slogans against Ganesh Thapa and the NSC after their 72-hour ultimatum to NSC expired at 1:00pm.
The group has been demanding the dissolution of ANFA body for the last one year.
