APF enter final

KATHMANDU: Nepal APF Club defeated Ruslan Three Star Club in sudden death and advanced to the final of the third Chandragiri Mayor Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the Naikap grounds on Wednesday.

APF won the penalty shootout battle in the 11th kick after both the teams scored two goals each in the regulation period.

Both teams netted four goals in tie-breaker and the match went to sudden death. Goalkeeper Amrit Chaudhary scored the winning goal for APF, while Karan Raut missed it in the sixth attempt. Earlier, Nirajan Maharjan and Karan Raut scored for Three Star, while Aashish Lama and Biku Lama netted for APF in the regulation period.

APF will face fellow departmental side, Nepal Police Club in Saturday’s final.
