Armymen outplay Friends

Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) defeated Friends Club 3-1 in the day’s Super Six League match of the Martyrs’ Memorial Everest ‘A’ Division football tournament here at Dasharath Stadium today. TAC remained at third place with 28 points, while Three Star Club lead the the standings with 36 points and Mahendra Poilce Club are at second spot with 33 points. TAC took an early lead through Ram Kumar Biswas in the 10th minute, following skipper Janamat Karki’s corner. Soon after four minutes, Chakra Tamang doubled the tally. On his solo attempt, Tamang guided the ball from about 30 yards and converted in beating Friends custodian Sanjeev Shrestha. Friends Club skipper Rabin Byanjankar reduced the margin when he easily netted from 25 yards in the 61st minute. In the 69th minute, Shiva Chaudhari of TAC sealed the victory taking a pass from his skipper Karki, who took advantage of Noor Raj Kafle’s blunder near the penalty area. In the 47th minute, Friends Club substitute Hari Mahato ended up with a skying shot. Friend Club’s Deepak Khawas failed to connect on skipper Rabin Byanjankar’s pass inside the danger area in the 58th minute.
