Giri, Subedi enter semis

Nepal’s Aryan Giri and Aadit Subedi entered the boys’ singles semi-finals of the Kesha Group ANLTA Asian U-14 Tennis Championship Circuit-I here at the Satdobato Tennis Complex courts today.
In all-Nepal quarter-final matches, Giri earned a double bagel against Chirag Timilsina, while Subedi recorded a 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 victory over Aarav Hada. Similarly, Garv Bahl of India thrashed Aaditya Subedi of Nepal 6-0, 6-1 and Rushikesh Sunkara earned a double bagel against fellow Indian player Sivasamy Ramalingam Nathin Ram to make it to the last four.
In girls’ singles, three Nepali players made it to the semi-finals with wins over their teammates. Prerana Koirala defeated Isha Shree Shah 6-1, 6-0, Saloni Tamang beat Sharvani Shrestha 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 and Rayana Shah thrashed Lumu Tso Lama 6-0, 6-1. Likewise, Riya Matharoo of India saw off Nepal’s Sneha Yadav 6-0, 6-1. In boys’ doubles quarter-final matches, Nepali pair of Aadit Subedi and Aaditya Subedi recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win against India duo of Harisharan Baskaran and Sivasmingam, while Indian pair of Garv Bahl and Rushikesh Sunkara beat Nepal’s Aryan Giri and Aarav Hada 6-3, 6-1.
