Asian Enduro Series Race next week

Mountain  biking company, Gnarly is organising the second Asian Enduro Series MTB  Race in Nagarkot from April 6-9.

The race,  which is designed for professional riders, will be held over seven stages, informed Gnarly’s Co-founder and Media Coordinator Anuj  Adhikari at a press meet today. A total  of 81 participants, including 42 Nepali riders, from 17  countries will compete in the event which features five categories — elite men, women, above-40 men, below-40 men and U-17.

The  first two days of the competition are allocated for practice which is mandatory for all the participants, while the  main race will be held on the next two days.

The race will start from the Nagarkot view tower point and the riders will complete four stages, all downhill, on the first day — first  stage (1.65km), second (925m), third (1.33km) and fourth (2.4km). On the second day, the riders will complete three uphill stages — fifth stage (1km), sixth (2.7km) and final (2.05km).

“We have  registered only experienced riders for the competition as the event is  more risky and need more precautions,” said Adhikari.

The organisers informed that automatic timing system would be introduced for the accuracy of time. The winners of the event will get gift hampers. The estimated budget of the competition is Rs 1.6 million.
