Colombo, February 10:
With the end of the league matches of the ICC U-19 World Cup on Friday, fixtures of Super League and the Plate Championship has been fixed.
Nepal is pitted against Uganda in its Plate Championship quarter-finals on February 14 at the P Sara Stadium. Nepal, third in the Group D, will play against Group A fourth-placed Uganda.
In other Plate Championship quarter-finals, New Zealand will meet Ireland, Namibia will face USA and South Africa will take on Scotland. Given that Nepal wins its match, it will play against either South Africa or the Scotland on February 16.
The Technical Committee of the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup has decided to revert to the original schedule for the Super League quarter-finals following the meeting of the participating teams’ representatives.
The decision was taken to alter the venues for the matches — which will take place on Saturday — was taken by the committee in an attempt to minimise the advantage gained by India and Sri Lanka, who had played all their group matches at the R Premadasa Stadium, by switching them away from the venue.
Bangladesh will take on England; India against West Indies; Pakistan against Zimbabwe; and Australia against host Sri Lanka in the Super League quarter-finals.
