Bal Dikshya Sadan grabs men’s title

Bal Dikshya Sadan won the title in the men’s team event of the first Prasadi ALPAN Open Inter-school Table Tennis Championship that concluded here on Thursday. Raktakali Higher Secondary School finished second, while The Rising School and Genuine English School stood joint third.

In girls’ single category, Salina Bajracharya of Paragon School beat Anisha Shanghai of Rupy’s International to clinch the title, while Alisha Shrestha of Ganesh Memorial beat Ramita Prajapati of Samaj Sudhar in the final of the junior girls’ singles category.

In ladies’ singles category, Sanisha Lakha and Prabha Kasula of Basu Secondary School finished first and second, while Anush Shrestha of New Summit School beat Rabin Maharjan in the final of the boys’ single group.

Uttam Karmacharya of Raktakali and Binod Damaru of Mount Valley stood first and second in the men’s junior single category, while Sachin Shrestha clinched the title of the men’s singles (plus two) category defeating Sanjaya Shrestha.

Retired senior coach Jit Ram Joshi and former national players gave away prizes to the winners. In all, 350 students from more than 25 schools participated in the championship organised jointly by Alumni of Prasadi Association Nepal (ALPAN) under the convenorship of Salina Enterprises.
