Balaju Dojo finish first

Balaju Dojo came first with nine gold medals at the first Valley-wide Shito Ryu Karate and Kick Boxing Championship organised by Lainchaur Branch Dojo. Sabarna Timilsina beat Dipen Bamjan in 20kg final. Other winners were Nikesh Poudel/ Subhadra Itani (25kg); Chandra Shrestha/Sabina Oli (30kg); Suman Shrestha/Januka Khatiwada (35kg); Tek Shrestha/Sarala Oli (40kg); Narendra Lama /Jyoti Giri (45kg); Chankha Gurung/Sabita Ghising (50kg). In men’s 55kg, Mani Sunuwar defeated Dhana B Tamang in final while Narayan Gharti knocked out Marpo Lama in 60kg. Prakash Sapkota beat Jaya K Shrestha in the open weight category, whereas Sapana Lama prevailed over Sima Gurung in the women’s section. The winners in Kick Boxing were Rajan Paicha (40kg), Pradip Maharjan (50kg), Rajesh Bajracharya (55kg), and Kulman Shrestha (60kg). In women’s section, Roji Nagarkoti beat Nirmala Acharya in 55kg bout. Minister for Education and Sports Radha Krishna Mainali gave away prizes. He also handed over a letter of appreciation to Runa Shrestha, who gave Rs 1,00,000 to oragnise the event.
