KATHMANDU: Gyan Prasad Bhattarai of Tribhuvan Army Club and Sanuka Thapa of Nepal APF Club won the titles of the fourth National Open Cross Country Championship here on Saturday. In men’s section, Jitendra Rai of APF and Khagendra Bhat of TAC came second and third respectively, while Thapa finished ahead of Laxmi Pandey of TAC and Sangita Khadka in women’s section. TAC won the men’s section team championship trophy with 219 points, finishing ahead of APF (147) and Nepal Police Club (97), while APF, TAC and NPC claimed top three spots respectively in women’s category. In school section, Sagar Kuikel and Sangita Bade won boys’ and girls’ titles. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha and President of Nepal Athletics Association Rajeev Bikram Shah gave away the prizes to the winners.
