Tamang, Acharya, Shah clinch gold medals

Kathmandu, June 18

Binod Tamang, Sadbhav Acharya and Kasmira Shah won the gold medals in the Olympic Day Junior Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Played under stroke play format over nine holes, Tamang carded one-under 33 to finish first in the boys’ U-16 category. Subsang Ghising bagged silver medal with the score of three-over 37, while Sam Doublard claimed bronze with the score of four-over 38.

Acharya won the boys’ U-12 section gold medal with the score of 10-over 44, while Ishaan Poudyal bagged silver medal with the score of 12-over 46 and Vivaan Poudyal came third with the score of 17-over 51.

Likewise, Kasmira Shah won the gold medal in girls’ section with the score of three-over 37, while Bhumi Baniya got silver with the score of 18-over 52.

A total of 22 junior golfers took part in the tournament organised by Nepal Golf Association to celebrate the Olympic Day.

Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, NGA President Tashi Ghale, RNGC President Rabindra Man Shrestha and Chairman of NGA Development Committee Deepak Acharya handed over the prizes to the winners.
