Bishwo Gorkha lift Coca Cola Cup

Bishwo Gorkha Academy beat Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya 2-1 in the final of the Coca Cola Cup Inter-school Football here at the Dasharath Stadium today.
Anjesh Khadki struck twice for Bishwo Gorkha while Bodh Bahadur Magar replied for Birendra Sainik. Khadgi put Bishwo Gorkha ahead in the 22nd minute through a 20-yard spectacular freekick and added another capitalising on a defensive error seven minutes later.
Magar pulled one back for Birendra Sainik when he flicked in on a superb freekick from
Susan Gurung five minutes from time in the 70-minute game.
Earlier, Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute defeated Gitamata Secondary School 5-3 in a third-place decider. Vanasthali squandared their lead thrice before scoring two more goals in the last 10 minutes to finish third. Roman Shrestha scored a hat-trick and Pradeep Magar netted two goals for Vanasthali while Ramesh Poddar scored all three goals for Gitamata.
Shrestha provided the lead in the 16th minute and Magar doubled their lead three mintues later. Poddar levelled the tally scoring twice in the 21st and 24th minute before Magar put Vanasthali again in the lead. Poddar again equalised in the 54th minute. Shrestha then scored his second goal in the 60th minute and completed the hat-trick scoring the fifth goal for his team in the 67th minute.
The winners received Rs 200,000 while the runners up got Rs 100,000. Likewise, the third-placed Siddhartha Vanasthali walked away with a purse of Rs 50,000 and the fourth-placed Gitamata got Rs 25,000. State Minister for Education and Sports Mohan Singh Rathaur gave the away prizes.
In all, 129 schools took part in the tournament organised by All Nepal Football Association.
