Black Rose to fight Fierce Lion in prison

Bangkok, May 5:

A Thai inmate boxer known as “Black Rose” will face off with a Japanese champion in a prison bout next Wednesday, Thai media reported on Friday. Siriporn Sor Siriporn, 23, is scheduled to rumble with Japanese straw-weight champion Nanako Kikuchi, also known as “Fierce Lion,” at Klong Prem prison.

Siriporn, whose real name is Siriporn Thaweesuk, has served six years of her 10-year sentence on drugs charges. She has been training for two years under Sudjai Supalek.

The prison match is the second to be organised by the Thai Corrections Department and the World Boxing Council. Last year, the bout took place at Klong Luang prison in Pathum Thani. Kikuchi arrives from Japan on Sunday.
