Colombo, April 20:

England cricket great Ian Botham took time out to give tips to a group of Sri Lankan students from tsunami-affected areas. “We are delighted that one of the best allrounders in cricket history is here and telling our boys how to play well,” said former Sri Lanka captain, Hashan Tillakaratne, as Botham spoke to the group of about 50 students in Galle, where the cricket stadium was devastated by the December 26 tsunami.

“It is a wonderful sight,” said Tillakaratne, who is executive director of Cricket Aid, an organisation set up by Sri Lanka Cricket to help tsunami victims. Botham is in Sri Lanka as a representative for the Laureus Sports Award and the Shane Warne Foundation.
