Bouddha win; Naxal hold Friends Club

Kathmandu, January 19:

Bouddha Football Club defeated United Youth Club 3-1 and Naxal Youth Association and Friends Club played a 1-1 draw in the Martyrs’ Memorial ‘B’ Division League Football Tournament today. Bouddha took lead through Bijay Gautam in the 21st minute when he found the net following Jimmy Pulami’s corner kick. In the 28th minute, Prem Kumar Subba of United scored an equaliser through a free kick. Bouddha took a 2-1 lead through Digvijay Khadka in the 71st minute. Pradip Kunwar of Bouddha sealed the victory in the 78th minute.

In the other match, Amir Maharjan put Naxal ahead in the 44th minute with a header following Hari Khadka’s corner kick. In the 57th minute, Bijay Mahat netted the equaliser for Friends Club.

In the 15th minute, Naxal’s Ranjit Kumar Majhi scored on Hari Khadka’s pass but referee Laba Khatri declared that an offside. In the 20th minute, Naxal almost scored when Ranjit Majhi’s dodged two defenders inside the D-Box and fired the ball, but Friends defender Suman Thapa cleared the ball from goalline.
