KATHMANDU: Krishna Bahadur Lama and Deva Lama entered the semi-finals of the 55kg event in the 12th International Inter-High School Karate Championship on Saturday. Abhi Maharjan and Dewas Oli advanced to the the 60kg semis. Nirmal Thapa and Sashank Shrsetha secured the semi-final berth in the open weight category. Swapnil Shakya and Prabin Manandhar advanced to the last four in the 20kg kick-boxing category. — HNS

Goju Kai karate

KATHMANDU: Main dojo won the team championship of the Inter-school Goju Kai Karate Championship with four gold, three silver and six bronze medals on Saturday. Children Model School finished runners up with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Suman Tamang of The Eloquence and Shanti Lama of Main dojo were declared the best male and female players of the tournament respectively. — HNS
