BSAM, LRI set title clash

KATHMANDU: Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya (BSAM) and Learning Realms International School (LRI) set the title clash of the first Rum Pum Inter-school Cricket Tournament here today.

Held at the LAB cricket ground, BSAM outplayed Galaxy Public School in all departments, defeating them by a massive 103 runs in the first semi-final of the day. Opting to bat first, BSAM set a challenging 166-2 in 20 overs. Man of the match Ayush Jung Rana hammered 69 unbeaten runs off 63 balls that included seven fours and two sixes. Saugat Basnet was another notable contributor with 43 runs while Anil Chaisir smashed 22 runs of seven balls with five fours.

In reply, Galaxy were bowled out for a paltry 59 runs after Roshan Karki picked up four wickets and Milan Karki sent back two batsmen. Niraj Karki (19) was the only batsman to score in double figures for Galaxy.

In the second semi-final LRI bowlers dominated the

show in their eight-wicket win over Wilson Academy.

Amrit Basyal and man of the match Bibek Sapkota grabbed four wickets each to bundle out Wilson for just 20 runs, which was also the lowest total of the tournament. In LRI’s 8.5 overs show, Aamir Manandhar and Abhishek Jha made four runs each for Wilson. LRI cruised home comfortably in 6.2 overs losing two wickets. The final match will be played on Friday at the Tribhuvan University Stadium.
