Kathmandu, February 4

Boys’ Union Club and Mahakali Wine Pvt Ltd today signed the sponsorship deal for the upcoming Martyrs Memorial B Division League.

President of BUC Niraj Bahadur Raut and Managing Director of Mahakali Wine Pvt Ltd Santosh Khadka exchanged the memorandum of understanding at a signing ceremony. As per the one-year agreement, Mahakali Wine Pvt Ltd will provide the club with one million rupees. In return, the club will sport the logo of the sponsors and will take part in tournament under Divine Boys Union Club.

Khadka also handed over the cheque of one million rupees to club president Raut. The club also unveiled the new jersey of the club. President of All Nepal Football Association Karma Tsering Sherpa, Vice-president Krishna Thapa and General Secretary Indra Man Tuladhar among others were also present on the occasion.

Brand Manager of Mahakali Wine Pvt Ltd Sanju Shakya said the company was happy to get the club with rich history. “We had been associated with the club in the past and we continued the support this year also. We hope to continue with this association in the years to come,” he said.

ANFA President Sherpa said BUC was coming up strong. “I am happy that the club has already prepared the training ground apart from constructing their own building. The club is one of the richest in terms of glorious history and almost all the stars of Nepali football were associated with Boys Union in their career,” he said.

BUC are one of the 12 teams taking part in the B Division League, which like A Division League will not have promotion and relegation provisions. The teams are divided into two pools of six clubs each and top two sides from the pools will advance to the second and final round where the teams will play against each other.
