BUC taste success, finally

KATHMANDU; Boys Union Club (BUC) registered their first win at the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel A Division League while NIB Friends Club defeated Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) 1-0 today.

BUC ended Machhindra Football Club’s dream run with a 1-0 win after Shuvam Shrestha scored the decider in the 70th minute while Buddha Chemjong’s sixth minute strike gave Friends their second consecutive win.

Machhindra were down to 10-man in the 59th minute when their goalkeeper Bishal Magar was sent off for bringing down Raju Rai outside the area in one-on-one encounter. Bishal was replaced by substitute Raju Nagarkoti. BUC took one-man advantage as Shuvam headed home on a corner from Sudip Limbu.

Earlier in the day, Buddha chipped a ball over second choice custodian Ranjeet Gurung to inflict JYC their third defeat. Hit by injuries to key players in Raj Kumar KC, Raj Kumar Ghising, Yogesh Shrestha and Dipen Shrestha, JYC hardly threatened Friends in the entire match.
