Cricket Association Nepal names squad for ICC WCL Championship

KATHMANDU: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Monday announced a 20-member preliminary squad for the closes camp for the ICC World Cricket League Championship matches against Papua New Guinea.

The players were picked up as per their performance in the selection matches. The final 14 and four reserve players will be selected later, CAN said in a release.

Paras Khadka, Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawakar, Shakti Gauchan, Basant Regmi, Sompal Kami, Anil Mandal, Subash Khakurel, Rajesh Pulami Magar, Prithu Baskota, Sagar Pun, Karan KC, Dilip Nath, Mahboob Alam, Yogya Man Kumal, Irshad Ahmad, Mahesh Chhetri, Naresh Budhayer, Sandeep Lamichane and Bikram Sob have been picked for the camp.

Nepal will travel to Abu Dhabi on November 4 and will play two-day match against Hong Kong, senior team’s first ever match against Pakistan, 50-over game against Oman before facing PNG in the WCL Championship match on November 16 and 18.
