Cash prize from Biratnagar to SAG gold medalists

BIRATNAGAR: A total of Rs. 734,000 was collected as a cash prize for the Nepali football team that won the coveted gold in the recently concluded 12th South Asian Games.

Convener of the Birat Gold Cup Organising Committee Rajendra Raut handed over the amount to General Secretary of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Dhirendra Pradhan and Treasurer Birat Jung Shahi at a function held here on Thursday.

The Committee has also added a sum of Rs. 200,000 for the champions.

The amount was donated by the Biratnagar Sub-metropolis, the Industry Association Morang, the CPN-UML Morang, the Nepali Congress Morang and the Morang Trade Association, among others.
