CCRC ‘A’ through

Kathmandu, July 10:

Hosts Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) ‘A’ advanced to the semi-finals with a 45-run win over Pulchowk Engineering Campus here today.

Electing to bat first, the star-studded CCRC could only manage a lowly 108-6 thanks to a disciplined bowling performance from the Pulchowk Campus. In reply, Pulchowk could only muster 63-9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Gyanendra Malla top-scored with 32-ball 36 including two fours and a six for CCRC. Anil Mandal contributed valuable 23 runs while Antim Thapa chipped in 17 for the winners. Prabhat Adhikari (2-13) and Utsab Dhungana (2-13) picked up two wickets each while Ashutosh Karna claimed one for Pulchowk.

In reply, Utsav scored the highest 14 runs for Pulchowk. The only other batsman to score in double figures was Jayesh Giri as they found difficult to cope up with the qualify bowling from the national team trio Sanjam Regmi, Raj Shrestha and Abhaya Rana. Man of the match Regmi finished with 3-11 and Shrestha 3-14 from four overs. Rana claimed 2-10.

The CCRC ‘A’ will meet their second choice team CCRC ‘B’ and Classic College will take on Don Bosco in semi-finals on Friday.
