CCRC enter final

Kathmandu, May 12:
Raj Shrestha scored a half century as Capital College and Research Centre (CCRC) defeated Himalayan White House International College ‘B’ by six wickets in the semi-final of the second Himalayan Cup Inter-college Cricket Tournament here at Tribhuwan University Stadium today.
Electing to bat first, White House accumulated 121 runs losing eight wickets in 30 overs. Except for Lakpa Lama and Ashim Subedi, who scored 27 and 26 runs respectively, other batsmen failed to reach the double figure mark.
For Capital College, Avay Rana, Bikash Tam-ang and Anuj Kattel grabbed two wickets api-ece conceding 26, 14, 25 runs respectively. Raj Shrestha also claimed one wicket.
In reply, CCRC overcame the target in 27.2 overs losing four wickets. Raj Shrestha top-scored with 62 runs including five hits to the ropes and a six. Bikash Tamang contributed 12 runs.
For HWHIC, Rajesh Chaudhari and Lakpa Lama pocketed one wicket each giving away 25 and 23 runs respectively.
In Friday’s final, CCRC will take on HWHIC ‘A’. The tournament has been jointly organised by Himalayan White House International College and The Himalayan Times.
