Chelsea in FA Cup final; Tottenham draw
London, April 16:
Robbie Keane scored two goals and set up another in Tottenham’s 3-3 draw at Wigan in the Premier League, and Chelsea entered the FA Cup final with a 2-1 win over Blackburn.
Wigan striker Emile Heskey scored in the second minute but Tottenham replied immediately as Dimitar Berbatov scored in the fourth minute. Leighton Baines made it 2-1 in the 30th. Filan brought down Tottenham’s Jermaine Jenas inside the box and Keane converted the spot kick. Kevin Kilbane headed in Wigan’s third goal in the 60th. Keane’s final goal was a 35-yard shot that went over the Filan’s head. Tottenham has 49 points, and moved up one place to eighth. Wigan increased to 35 points and is now 15th.
Everton beat Charlton 2-1 with an injury-time goal from James McFadden. That moved the Toffees up to fifth place, but left the Addicks in the relegation zone. Joleon Lescott scored for Toffees in the 81st and Darren Bent equalized in the 89th, but McFadden scored the winner in injury time. Charlton stayed in 18th place with 32 points.
Michael Ballack scored for Chelsea in extra time (109th) after the match had ended 1-1 in regular time. Frank Lampard put Chelsea aheaad in the 16th but Jason Roberts equalized in the 64th.
Spanish La Liga
MADRID: Mallorca defender Fernando Navarro inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net in the 59th minute on Sunday, giving defending champion FC Barcelona a 1-0 win in the Spanish league. Barcelona lead the standings with 59 points.
