China donate wushu kits worth Rs 5m
KATHMANDU: The Chinese Government
on Friday donated wushu
kits worth five million rupees
to the Nepal Wushu Association (NWA).
At a felicitation programme organised by the NWA for the 11th South Asian Games medallists, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong handed over the kits to Youth and Sports Minister Ganesh Nepali.
Guohong said that the assistance would help in the
development of Nepali wushu. Minister Nepali thanked the Chinese government for providing the assistance.
The NWA feted the 11th SA Games gold medallists Aang Babu Lama and Binita Mahrajan with Rs 10,000 each while
the silver medallists duo of
Purshottam Rijal and Bikash
Gurung were handed over
Rs 5,000 apiece.
The bronze medal winners Elina Chaudhary and Jharana Gurung were rewarded with Rs 3,000 each. Nepali wushu team coaches Prakash Bahadur Rana and Ganesh Aryal, Jury Pranil Dhoj Karki along with referees Deepak Lama and Lanam Lama were also honoured. Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Chanda Chaudhary, National Sports Council Member Secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary, Vice-president Pitamber Timilsina, Nepal Olympic Committee General Secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha, NWA President Ang Dembi Sherpa among others were also present on the occasion.
