Chyasal beat Fulbari; Gokarneshwor win

Chyasal Youth Club beat Fulbari Football Club of Bouddha 4-3 and Gokarneshwor Youth Upkar Club beat Merlion Club of Talchhikhel 8-7 in the inaugural-day matches at the ā€˜Cā€™ Division League Selection Knock-out Football Tournament at Sano Gaucharan today. Both the matches went into tie-breaker after Fulbari and Chyasal drew 1-1 and Gokarneshwor and Merlion failed to break the 3-3 deadlock in the normal time. On Tuesday, Merlion took lead through Rambo Gurung in the 16th minute and four minutes later, Hari Tamang of Gokarneshwor scored an equaliser. In the 22nd minute, Saroj Lama made it 2-1 for Gokarneshwor but Bikash Pun levelled the tally in the 33rd minute. Lama scored the third goal for his team in the 43rd minute but Rasdhan Limbu, who missed in the penalty shoot-out, added one more for Merlion to make it 3-3.

In penalties, Maheshwor Rayamajhi, Bijay Shrestha, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Hari Tamang and Saroj Lama scored for Gokarneshwor while Suren Limbu, Indra Gurung, Sujan Limbu and Bikash Pun netted for Merlion. In the first match, Dorji of Fulbari and Rabin Byanjankar of Chyasal scored in their 80-minutes play. While Dorji scored in the 29th minute, Byanjankar levelled the tally in the 32nd minute. For Chyasal Bhola Byanjankar, Raju Awal and Sunil Byanjankar converted the penalties whereas Bishan Lama and Binod Lopchan scored for Fulbari. Earlier, senior vice president of All Nepal Football Association Mahesh Bista inaugurated the tournament.
