Classic enter semi-finals

Kathmandu, July 6:

Classic College registered a thrilling two-run victory over National Campus to advance to the semi-finals of the third CCRC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

Electing to bat first, Classic scored a lowly 97-6 but defended the total by restricting National Campus to 95-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Mahesh Chhetri top-scored with 28 off 34 balls and Shakti Bhandari made 20-ball 24 for Classic. Kuldeep Khadka also chipped in valuable 19 runs and Binod Bhandari contributed 13. Rupesh Sharma took two wickets while Sunil Sunuwar, Nirmal Simalgaida, Sandeep Shrestha and Subendu Pandey claimed one wicket each for National Campus.

Despite chasing a lowly total, National Campus could not overcame the target thanks largely to the discipline bowling and fielding from Classic College players. Sandeep Shrestha scored the highest 31 off 30 deliveries for National Campus. Man of the match Pradeep

Ayeri finished with 3-11 off four overs and Kuldeep Khadka bagged one wicket. Classic College players effected three run-outs to help their cause.
