CAN launching Talent Hunt to select U-19 cricketers

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is starting the Talent Hunt Programme from November 18 to select players for the ACC U-19 Asia Cup to be held in Sri Lanka from December 8-22.
The programme will run in different six centresĀ of the country and a total of 44 players will be picked up for the closed camp training to be held in Kathmandu from November 24, stated the CAN press release issued by Chief Operating Officer Chhumbi Lama.
Lama, who has been looking after the daily works of the cricket governing body following the suspension of CAN membership by the International Cricket Council, informed that the Asian Cricket Council would provide funds for the Talent Hunt programme.
The programmes will be conducted in Kathmandu on November 15-16, while players can appear for the trial in Biratnagar on November 18. A three-member team of national team head coach Jagat Tamatta, U-19 coach Binod Kumar Das and technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti will conduct the programmes.
The team will conduct the trial in Dhangadhi on November 17-18 for the players of Dhangadi and Baitadi, while the programme in Nepalgunj will be held on November 19.
Similarly, U-19 players from Birgunj and Janakpur will be entertained for the selection event in Birgunj on November 20-21, while the talent hunt programme for Bhairahawa and Pokhara will be conducted in Bhairahawa on November 21.
