Shrestha, Bista depart

KATHMANDU: The two-time South Asian Games gold medallist karateka Deepak Shrestha on Thursday left for Canada to participate in the Karate Coaches and Management Seminar to be held in Otawa from August 18-22.

After the seminar, Shrestha — who is also the President of Nepal National and International Players Association — is scheduled to go to the United States to take part in an interaction programme organised by Nepalese Sports and Cultural Development Committee in New York.

Likewise, four-time SA Games gold medallist and two-time Asian Games bronze medal winner Deepak Bista is on Friday leaving for the US to take part in the meeting of Universal United Nepalese Taekwondo Federation to be held in Portland on August 14.

Bista, the immediate past president of NNIPA, will join Shrestha for the interaction programme in New York.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista bade farewell to them on Thursday.
