Dhangadhi beat Tikapur

Ritesh Thapa scored the winner in the extra time as Dhangadhi Municipality beat Tikapur Municipality 3-2 in the final of the the Birendra Memorial Inter-municipality Regional Football Tournament of the Mid-western and Far-western Region today.
The match went to extra time after the teams were deadlocked at 2-2 in normal time. Lalit Chand netted twice for Dhangadhi and Prakash Rawat and Ayodhya Chaudhari scored for Tikapur. The finalists have qualified for the central region tournament to be held in Kanchanpur.
In Tanahun, Naresh KC scored a double hat-trick and Bishnu KC struck twice as Pokhara sub-Metropolis vanquished Baglung Municipality 8-0 in the semi-final. Pokhara will face the winner of Thursday’s semi-final between Lekhnath Municipality and Siddhartha Municipality.
In Gaighat, Ganesh Lawati scored a hat-trick as Biratnagar Municipality thrashed Inaruwa Municipality 6-0 and entered the semi-finals of the tournament.
For Biratnagar, Sunil Magar, Kishor Subba and Gudia Rai also scored. On Thursday, Dharan Municipality will take on Mechi Municipality in the other semi-final match.
