Dharan reaches Aaha Rara Gold Cup quarter-finals

POKHARA: Dharan Football Club has reached to the quarter-finals of the Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament defeating the Indian side Sikkim United Club 3-0 on Wednesday.

Roman Limbu, Saujan Rai and Dhiren Limbu scored one goal each for Dharan to outclass visiting side in the pre-quarterfinal match at Pokhara Stadium.

The first half was ended goalless with both sides failing to covert the chances. Roman Limbu put Dharan on driving seat scoring an opener in the 61st minute. Two minutes later, Saujan Rai made 2-0 for Dharan-based outfit. Dhiren Limbu sealed comfortable 3-0 win for Dharan scoring the third goal of the match in 74th minute.

After facing an early exit from the tournament, Sikkim manager Pema Gyatso Bhutia said that his team was in Pokhara with academy players since first team players are busy playing Santosh Trophy in Patna.

Likewise, Dharan manager Ashok Rai said that his team will play more improved football in next match.
