BHAKTAPUR: Baluwatar Cricket Centre Club beat Andhra Pradesh Twenty20 Cricket Federation twice in friendly matches at the Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds today.
In the first match, Baluwatar beat the visitors by 35 runs. Baluwatar defended their 151-7 by restricting Andhra Pradesh for 116-9. Sunam Gautam scored 39-ball 54 while Subash Khakurel struck 45 from 34 balls. Karthik was the pick of the Andhra Pradesh bowlers with 3-25. Kiran and Lavan also took two wicket apiece.
In reply, Venketesh fought a lonely battle for the touring team, scoring 67 runs. Man of the match Venketesh struck 10 fours in his 64-ball knock. Prithu Banskota and Ritesh Singh claimed two wickets each for Baluwatar.
In the second match, Baluwatar triumphed by 54 runs. The hosts scored 146-5 in 20 overs before dismissing Andhra Pradesh for 92 in 15.4 overs. Bijay Gautam top scored for Baluwatar with 43-ball 47. Sunam Gautam also made a quickfire 44 off 25 balls. Mayur Malakar (21) and Suman Uday (14) also chipped in valuable runs. Lavan and Karthik claimed two wickets for the visitors.
Shravan top scored for Andhra Pradesh, scoring unbeaten on 24 runs. Rashool and Haribabu made 10 runs each. Suman Uday took 3-13 for Baluwatar. Man of the match Bijay Gautam, Ritesh Singh and Gokarna Nepal also grabbed two wickets each. With the wins, Baluwatar lead the three-match friendly series 2-0.
