DPL emerging stars to go to South Africa

Dhangadhi Premier League put yet another step in the development of cricket when it announced the South Africa tour for the emerging stars of the third Ruslan DPL The organisers of the DPL, Dhangadhi Cricket Academy will select a 14-member team to send it to South Africa for training and practice matches, informed DCA president Subash Bahadur Shahi at a press meet today.

“The U-19 team selected as per their performance in the DPL will go to South Africa where the players will undergo high performance training apart from playing matches,” said Shahi.

The two-week tour is the joint initiation of DCA and Sports Ed, which had brought legendary South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes for High Performance Course earlier this year. Rhodes then joined the DPL as goodwill ambassador and mentor of CYC Attariya.

Rhodes said the tour would be a great platform for the young cricketers of Nepal.

“This will be an important tour for the young cricketers as they will attend training and also play matches against age-group players from local teams,” said Rhodes.

Abhishek KC of Sports Ed said the estimated cost for the tour will be four million rupees.”We will not charge any money to the selected players and Sports Ed and DCA will manage all the expenses,” he added.
