DPL3: Biratnagar Kings, Kathmandu Goldens win

DHANGADHI: Biratnagar Kings and Kathmandu Goldens have registered victories during the ongoing 3rd edition of Ruslan Dhangadhi Premier League here at Fapla International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Karan KC's Biratnagar Kings registered 21 runs victory over Sompal Kami's Dhangadhi Stars and Gyanendra Malla's Kathmandu Goldens edged Sarad Vesawkar's Mahendranagar United by 7 runs today.

Earlier, Kings won the toss and opted to bat first before posting 103/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite making a low score, Kings returned with the ball to defeat Dhangadhi Stars by 21 runs.

Skipper Sompal Kami and Bipin Khatri shared six wickets between them to restrict Kings for a paltry score of 103 before being skittled for 82 all out in 19 overs.

Skipper Karan KC and Avinash Yadav shared eight wickets between them to script a memorable victory in a low scoring fixture.

Later, Karan KC was awarded man of the match for his scintillating performance with the ball.

In another match of the day, Mahendranagar United won the toss and opted to bowl first before restricting Kathmandu Goldens to 134/5.

In reply, United fell short by seven runs to victory in a closely fought fixture.

Man of the match Ankit Dabas top scored the Goldens with 65 runs off 55 balls with five fours and three sixes and returned with the ball to take two scalps.

United lower order batsman Amar Rataula hit fighting not out 28 runs off 27 balls but to no avail.

Rashaid Khan was the pick of the bowler with 4-0-17-3.
