BERLIN: Sweden midfielder Albin Ekdal will miss Hamburg’s final game of the season after suffering a “laceration” in an incident at a nightclub, which his father describes as ‘serious’.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder had to be treated in hospital after receiving the injury last Saturday night.

He will sit out Hamburg’s final league game of the season at Augsburg this Saturday.

On Monday, Hamburg did not release any specific details of the injury, but his father, Lennart Ekdal, says his son fell on a glass table and cut his back.
