KATHMANDU: Fishtail Academy of Pokhara maintained their lead atop the fourth Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup Women’s Double League Volleyball with their eighth successive win over PLA Sports Club today.

Fishtail defeated the PLA Sports Club in straight sets 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 to retain their lead with 16 points. Defending champions Gyanu Baba registered a double win to leapfrog Nepal Police Club (NPC) for the second spot. The defending champions beat New Diamond 25-9, 25-13, 25-15 in the first match and later overcame Deep Jyoti School 25-3, 25-7, 25-8. Gyanu Baba have 15 points from eight matches with their only loss coming against the table toppers.

In other matches, NPC overpowered Deep Jyoti School 25-8, 25-7, 25-16 to record their sixth win. NPC have lost two matches so far and slipped one spot down to third place with 14 points. Likewise, Angel Hearts beat New Diamond 25-9, 25-23, 25-15 in the last match of the day. With five wins and three losses Angel Hearts are at the fourth position.
