All Nepal Football Association distributed equipment and funds to its 45 district FAs for grassroots development, here at the ANFA Complex today.

All 45 district FAs were provided with kits worth Rs 100,000 and fund of Rs 500,000 each for infrastructure development in their respective districts, under the FIFA Forward Football Development Programme.

Ten district FAs — Baglung, Dhankuta, Dolakha, Ilam, Kavre, Lamjung, Palpa, Panchthar, Sindhupalchowk and Syangja — received additional assistance of

Rs 500,000 each considering the cost of infrastructure constructions due to difficult land terrains, said the ANFA in a release.

Defense Minister Ishwor Pokhrel and ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa among others handed over the equipment — balls, bibs and cones — and funds to the representatives of the district FAs. ANFA Vice-president and Grassroots Coordinator Upendra Man Singh vowed to put in best efforts for the grassroots development.

Minister Pokhrel said he was delighted by the initiative taken by the ANFA to develop football from the base and assured of further assistance from the government. ANFA President Sherpa said the overall development was not possible without a strong base. He also instructed the district FAs to contribute towards the development of football.
