KATHMANDU; Hosts Godavari Alumni Association (GAA) and Prime College registered wins during the Fed-Ex fifth Fr Watrin Women’s Basketball Tournament super league match here on Tuesday.
Emily netted 17 points as GAA eased to a comfortable 41-25 win over Snow Leopards. GAA were never in trouble after opening up a massive 13-point lead by the half time. The GAA scored 14 each in the first two quarters while giving away six and nine points to their opponents. They extended the lead to 24 by the end of the third quarter, scoring 11 and conceding just one. Although, the GAA were able to add only two points to that of the nine from Snow Leopards, the hosts went on to win the match quite comfortably.
In the other match, Prime rallied past White House 25-20. Despite trailing all three quarters, Prime delivered their
killer blow in the final quarter to beat White House by five points.
White House scored nine, five, and four while Prime managed just two, 10, and three in first three quarters. Prime was three points behind White House going into the final quarter and they managed to score 10 while conceding just two points to their opponent. Nayana Shakya of Prime and Deepika Upreti of White House contributed nine points each.
White House will take on Golden Gate International College and Prime will meet Snow Leopards on Wednesday.
