Kathmandu, September 18

Base Camp Outdoor Lifestyle is organising the third Godavari Running Festival at the Godavari football grounds in Lalitpur on Saturday.

The event will feature TNF 60km ultra-run, Salomon 30km, Suunto 15km and TNF Yeti Fun Run of five-km, informed Event Manager Diwash Lal Pradhan at a press meet today.

The 60 km ultra-run will be an open event for professional athletes, while interested runners can take part in 30km and 15km races, informed Pradhan. In the five-km event, the participants will face various obstacles en route to the finish line.

The participants will have to pay Rs 1,000 as registration in all the events except for the 60km ultra-run which is free.

“We will not charge any fee to the athletes from outside the valley and we will contribute the funds raised from the event to the St Xavier’s School Scholarship Fund,” said Founder of Base Camp Outdoor Lifestyle Paresh Shrestha.

The winners of the event will be awarded with gift hampers. Shrestha informed that the title sponsor of the event, The North Face will provide the organisers with Rs 150,000, while sponsor Red Bull will contribute Rs 50,000.
