Golden Gate lift Everest Cup

Kathmandu, January 12:

Golden Gate College defeated Himalayan White House International College 70-53 in the final of the Everest Cup Men’s Open basketball Tournament, organised by Everest Basketball Academy, here in Kirtipur on Saturday.

Golden Gate College led from the start scoring 13 points to White House’s 10 and extended their lead to 20 points scoring 23 in the second quarter.

White House beat Golden Gate in the third quarter netting 20 points to Golden Gate’s 17, but Golden Gate dominated the last quarter with 17 points restricting their opponents to just 10 points. Sadish Pradhan of White House top-scored in the match with 22 points and was later named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Golden Gate skipper Bipendra Maharjan scored 17 points.

Golden Gate received Rs 25,000 and White House earned Rs 10,000.
