Golden Gate thrash Lord Buddha, Heart Land register easy win

Golden Gate College and Heart Land College registered huge victories in the Expert College Premier League Cricket Tournament here at the TU Stadium on Monday.

Golden Gate thrashed Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF) by 116 runs, while Heart Land routed VS Niketan by 114 runs. Batting first, Golden Gate made a mammoth 217-3 in 20 overs before they restricted LBEF to 101-9. Man-of-the-match Ritesh Yadhav scored an unbeaten 100 off just 49 balls that included 10 fours and six sixes, while Paresh Lohani hit 46 off 50 balls that included six fours. Dipesh Khatri scored a quick fire 24 off just eight balls with two fours and two sixes. Pankaj Yadhav claimed two wickets, while Robin Chand took one for LBEF.

In reply, LBEF never looked comfortable against the tight bowling of Golden Gate. Robin Chand top scored for LBEF with 39 off 45 deliveries that included three fours and two sixes, while Avinash Yadhav (14) and Rahul Mishra (10) were other LBEF batsmen who reached double figures. Sanjay Shrestha claimed three wickets, while Yogendra Karki took two wickets for Golden Gate. Kushal Bhurtel, Mohammad Nizamuddin and Dipesh Khatri grabbed a wicket apiece.

In another match, Heart Land made 172-7 in 20 overs and packed VS Niketan for 58 runs in 13.5 overs. Heart Land innings revolved around Pradeep Aireeā€™s half century. He scored 80 off 50 balls with 11 fours and two sixes. Bipulendra Chhetri scored 30 off 23 balls with four fours and a six and Mahesh Chhetri made 24 off 20 with four fours and a six. Sandeep Goit claimed two wickets for VS Niketan, while Naveen Yadhav, Ram Jaiswal, Deepak Sah and Roshan Sharma took a wicket apiece.

In reply, VS Niketan lost wickets at regular intervals and faced humiliating defeat. Sunil Kumar Thakur top scored for VS Niketan with nine runs. Abinash Adhikari claimed three wickets, while Pradeep Airee and Ashish Pokhrel took two wickets and Chandra Saud pocketed one for Heart Land.
