Golden Gate, Trinity in semi-finals

Lalitpur: Golden Gate Education Network and Trinity International College won their third straight match to enter the semi-finals of the first South Siders Invitational basketball Tournament here on Sunday.

In the Group A match, Sushil Gurung scored 50 points as Golden Gate thrashed Revolver Group 101-58. Golden Gate opened a 28-11 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They scored 29 points to Revolver's nine in the second quarter and added another 21 and 23 in the last two quarters. Revolver Group scored 19 points each in the last two quarters after the break, Utsav Chand netted 15 for Revolver.

In Group B, Sadish Pradhan netted 32 points but failed to save Prime Sports Club from a 74-83 loss at the hands of Trinity.

Trinity took a 20-15 lead in the first quarter and added 20 more points in the second quarter restricting Prime to just nine points. Prime dominated the last two quarters but failed to avert the defeat. Prime scored 21 and 24 points after the break, while Trinity managed 19 and 24. Manoj Serchan scored 21 points for Trinity.

Both Golden Gate and Trinity made it to the last four with one match on hand. The tournament has been jointly organised by Lalitpur District Basketball Association and South Siders Club at the Nakhipot Sports Complex.
