Himalayan Bank is organising the Himalayan Bank Open Golf Championship 2004 on 21st

February.

At a press meet held today, it was announced that Himalayan Bank which has been able to

carve a successful niche in the banking sector was now planning to expand its horizon into the arena of sports.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Himalayan Bank, Himalaya SJB Rana said that the tournament would continue for another two years. A total of around 100 golf players are expected to participate in the event including those from clubs in Dharan and Pokhara and Royal Nepal Golf Club and Royal Nepal Army Golf Club.

The participants will be charged a fee of Rs 1000 which would be set aside for development of Golf in Nepal. The main objective of organising this tournament is to promote tourism in the country and popularising the sport.

The championship would have prizes in 11 different categories. The winner will be awarded a running trophy.

There will be prizes for Best Gross, Winner Diplomat, Winner Bank Customer, Winner Senior, Winner Lady, Runner Up Bank Customer, Most Birdies, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Best Sportsmanship.
