Hosts Little Angels’ lead standings

Lalitpur, September 15:

Hosts Little Angles’ School (LAS) lead the standings with 56 points on the opening day of the eighth LA Inter-school Swimming Championship.

LAS won four golds, three silvers and 10 bronze medals. Baba (42 points) are second followed by British School (40). Baba bagged six golds, three silvers and a bronze, while British School earned four golds, three silvers and three bronze medals.

Aarju Joshi in 25m backstroke (U-10 girls), Tek Bahadur Tamang in 50m backstroke (above-15 boys), Ranju Joshi in 25m butterfly (U-10 girls) and 4x50m medley boys section won gold medals for the LAS.

Prakash Adhikari in 100m individual medley and 50m backstroke (13-14yrs boys), Pravesh Adhikari in 25m backstroke and 25m butterfly (U-10 boys), Banin Shrestha in 50m backstroke (11-12yrs boys) and Min Kumar Lama in 50m butterfly (above-15 boys) provided gold medals to Baba Boarding School.

Jantje Settje in 100m individual medley (13-14yrs girls), Isabella Claydon in 50m backstroke (11-12yrs girls), Shreya Dhital in 50m butterfly (11-12yrs girls) and 4x50m medley (girls) earned golds for British School. Shahid Dharma Bhakata and Lincoln won two golds each while KISC and Mansalu School claimed one apiece. Oshin Bharati won the double gold for Shahid Dharma Bhakata School in 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.

Lhanzi Giambrone in 50m butterfly (13-14yrs girls) and Lyle McPherson in 50m butterfly (13-14yrs boys) gave Lincoln the gold. Debra Becker won gold for KISC while Sangam Khadka provided Manaslu the gold for Manaslu. In all, 375 students from 31 schools are participating in the two-day event.
