India, Afghanistan to face each other at SAFF final
KATHMANDU: Hosts India and defending champions Afghanistan are vying for the trophy of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship in Trivandrum in the Indian state of Kerala, at 6:45 pm this evening.
India had made it to the final with a 3-2 win over the Maldives while Afghanistan trounced Sri Lanka 5-0 on the way to the last match of the tournament.
India has so far lifted the trophy six times while Afghanistan brought the trophy home defeating India 2-0 two years ago.
Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan failed to go to the knockout stage of the tournament.
