India to host 12th SAG in 2012
Dhaka: The 41st South Asian Olympic Committee (SAOC) meeting held on the sidelines of the 11th SA Games declared India as the hosts of the next SA Games in 2012. Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) General Secretary Jeevan Ram Shrestha informed the dates will be finalised in the next SAOC meeting. "India will decide on that issue in the 42nd meeting," said Shrestha.
Meanwhile, Shrestha informed the organisers apologised for the elevator mishap at the Imperial Hotel that left nine Nepali players and an official injured. Three players had to be admitted in the hospital with two of them out of the Games. "The organisers also informed during the meeting to take care of the treatment costs of the injured Nepali players," informed Shrestha.
"During the meeting, the local organisers also informed about the Bangladesi Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina's directives to take stalks of Nepali players' accommodation and fooding facilities," said Shrestha. He also said the organisers apologised for their mistakes of playing the old national anthem during the flag hoisting ceremony at the player's village on Friday and during the opening ceremony of the badminton tournament on Saturday.
