CHITTAGONG: A brace by Vimal Pariyar ensured a successful start to India’s campaign in the AFC Challenge Cup as they defeated Afghanistan 2-0 in their Group A match here at the MA Aziz Stadium on Saturday. India dominated the proceedings from the start and Pariyar put India ahead in 35th minute on Thokchom Singh’s pass. Pariyar made it 2-0 for India in the 60th minute on a pass from Xavier Vijay Kumar. In other matches, Fahed Attal scored a double hat-trick as Palestine thrashed Guam 11-0, Bangladesh beat Cambodia 2-1 and Chinese Taipei defeated Philippines 1-0.
